Hi Ellie
I hope by now the anti-b's have done their work and you're feeling much better. I started with a cough today, and goodness, did it hurt my ribs. I have to lean back and hold my ribs.

hi all, thanks for all your posts, yes the antibiotics have worked, cant believe all those weeks of pain and it was a chest infection, Lyn that's exactly how mine started please see your gp sooner rather than later.
Well from all the coughing, I have now done my back in and have been in agony, I am so proud of my hubby he has had to put up with me in pain with something or the other since the week before Christmas lol! he deserves a medal.
Not too worried about the back as it does go here and there, its just a matter of putting up with it until it goes...trusty old stick has come in handy again.
Love to all, Ellie
Oh forgot to say...sucess.....Ive managed to get down from 10mg a day to 5mg of steroids am very pleased

Hi Ellie, Glad you got sorted after all those weeks in pain. Strange that the cheskt infection didnt show up in any of test - would a chest infection show up on an x-ray? Is that the only way of diagnosing it. Do you thihnk it was RA related chest infection. It just goes to show we cant always automatically think its RA and I suppose because of the drugs get these infections.
Take care
Mari

Hi all,
back a lot better today, thank goodness, Mari it is strange isnt it...I was told that the steroids and mtx may have masked the symptoms of a chest infection, although it isnt unusual to have chest trouble with lupus and of course ra, whatever the cause Im grateful its better.
I do see the rhumey tomorrow pm so will let him know whats been going on. I do think that I will have to learn to accept my limitations now and not go like a mad woman with housework, work and garden. My new plan is to pace myself...lets see how it goes....
Love to all Ellie

Glad you are feeling better Ellie - it's easier said than done trying to pace yourself isn't it? Let us know how you get on with the rehumy tomorrow. Take care.
